A tool is only as trustworthy as the people who build it. In a category full of anonymous vendors selling "guaranteed profit" robots, here is exactly who is behind this one.
I've spent years on two things that rarely meet in one person: building software, and trading systematically. On the trading side, I competed in the Dukascopy Strategy Contest under the trading ID TradingwithEA — the name this product is built on — and finished first twice. On the software side I write and maintain open-source projects (github.com/jesselau76) and have been publishing at jesselau.com since 2018.
Why this product exists
Every discretionary trader eventually has the same thought: "my rules are clear — why am I still executing them badly?" The answer is usually emotion, timing, or simply being asleep. The fix is automation, and the wall in front of it is MQL5: to test one idea you first have to become a programmer.
I hit that wall myself, repeatedly. TradingWithEA is the tool I wanted: describe a rule in plain language, see it drawn as a flowchart, run it against real historical data, and get honest numbers back — before spending anything on the EA itself.
How we work
- Every number on this site comes from our own engine. We don't publish results we can't reproduce, and we don't show curated "winning" examples while hiding the rest.
- A strategy that deserves an F gets an F. The backtest report is never paywalled or softened — its job is to tell you the truth, including when the truth is "this doesn't work."
- Historical data comes from Dukascopy — minute-level, the same source I used when competing. Our methodology, including how out-of-sample scoring works, is documented openly.
- Your strategy stays yours. Ideas and results are private by default, never sold, never used to train models. Unlocked EA source code is 100% yours, including resale rights.
- No performance promises. Nobody can guarantee trading profits. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
